I send through Wells Fargo to ICICI bank in Inida. You can open a remmitance account with wels fargo and wire transfer yourself. Every $1000 dollars they charge $9 dollars.
Advantage is money is there in 2 days.
Simplest way is ...send your mom, post dated checks for the whole year. Mail it through Prioriy mail using USPS.....ony costs 5 dollars. She can deposit the check every month. I 've been doing it for longest time.

Employers need to have already declared whether their sponsoring of H1B's result in use of available numbers or exempted from it. They need to substantiate, I believe, with tax documents among other things. The applicant, or USCIS does not decide the category; rather, USCIS can deny an application if it deems an organization, and/or rarely, a position, is NOT 'not for profit': Eg. fully non-profit RD wing of a commercial company rarely gets
designated as non-profit and the H1B's are mostly within the cap.

My EB3 PD is September 2004 with no end in sight. I was promoted to Principal Software Engineer back in 2007 and would like to know if I can port my EB3 to EB2. I have a Masters degree with 13 years of experience. I have been working with the current employer since 2002 (8 years experience).
I asked my attorney for his advice and he responded with the following: "If you have been promoted to a position for which the company normally requires a Masters degree (or a Bachelors and five years of experience), and we can prove it, then we can certainly do the labor certification again as an EB-2 and we can upgrade the I-140 to an EB-2. The key is being able to prove that it is truly the company�s requirement for the job. Otherwise, we all end up with potential problems for fraud and you may NEVER get the permanent residence."
My question is if anything goes wrong with the porting process, can I fall back to my current EB3 without any issues? Has anybody ported from EB3 to EB2 working with the same employer? If so, could you provide some insight into this?

I'm confused - Everyone who has a 140 is supposed to have a Labor and very likely that will be more than 365 days old. So why do anyone need 140 approval in that sense ?

I think most of the HR folks may not know what is an EAD. So they may fear EAD is some kind of illegal thingie and deny job. It is best to just say I am authorized work in the US and no further explanation need to be given.
Today at Boeing interview event I got very good offer. The HR lady congratulated me, kept offer letter in my hand. Then I told her that I'm an EAD holder. All my fear came true, and she said a big sorry and said EAD is not acceptable at any cost. Also she said, she can keep the offer in hold for me for 5 months. How can I expect green card in hand in 5 months. GOD don't give this situation to any one. just trying to reduce my pain here...

What if I-140 is approved , and the primary applicant (H1) is waiting for the PD to be current, and the dependent wants to go to school. Will this have any impact on the GC process?

Even though your wife is not taking salary, if she is owner of the business, she is considered "paid". In the worse case scenario, your wife will have to stop working till you get EAD or you can use protection 245(k) i.e. illegal employment for less than 180 days.
If it is VERY critical, I suggest consulting a lawyer as most of what we post on this forums is personal knowledge and may not be the actual law! :)

I am okay, because I am on H1B, my wife has a business and employs 2 people full time.
She doesn't draw any salary from the business, except she has business on her name and the accounts on her name as well.
Additionally , she has a valid H4 as well.
I know its too early to panic, but if I didnt get her EAd card by July 31st, are we in trouble

Looks like TSC abandoned online status updates and emails. My case has been assigned to an officer (again) and enroute to I-485 manager as of Feb 3rd 2008 ( senator feedback ). So far no LUD's or emails.. Looks like instead of checking for emails every other minute , I have to wait for regular mail now.. unfortunately I can do that only once per day !! :( ..
