Employement history is on G-325. It is only for last 5 years. If it was before 5 years there is good chance that you need not answer that question. I-485 does not require your Tax returns. You can do that with your W2 forms.

I read now about Direct Filing....and I understood that if you apply after july 30...you can send the application either to Nebraska or Texas. Hopefully I'm right in this matter.

Also make sure you DO NOT FLY British Airways as you would need Transit visa with expired H1 stamping. Suggest to renew EAD. Consult your lawyer.

I have an unexpired H-1B visa stamp in my passport and I have contacted my attorney to upgrade the petition to premium. I plan to re-enter the country with the approved I797 and the unexpired H1B visa associated with the previous employer.
For some reason, my attorney feels strongly that I need to get visa stamp in my passport from either canada or home country(India), if the petition is approved. Do you see any strong reason why he thinks I need a visa stamp in my passport?
I have tried to convince him that people do re-enter with the approved I797 with attached I94, as long as they have an unexpired visa of the same class.

I filed 485 on July 2 2007 through Company 1. I left the Company 1 on July 7 2007. Company 2 had filed for PERM in June that had an approval on July 16 2007. I wana apply for 140/485 through Company 2 (concurrent filing) by this July 2007. Can I have 2 pending 485 application? I dont have the receipt for 1st 485 as it was just filed on July 2.

My PERM approval came through Aug 14, so all done in a hurry. 140/485 (concurrent-mailed) /ead/ap sent aug 16th, received on aug 17.
Since it was done quickly, couldn't wait for PERM hard copy approval (came 1 wk later), 140 was submitted without PERM approval hard copy. lawyer included printout of ETA 9089 approval/form from online with OBM approval number on it, signed by me/employer. Also included screen shot from DOLETA of perm approval.
My question...from anyone else's experience/info
Will I get a RFE for the PERM LC hard copy or a rejection?
How does that affect my pending EAD/485? think i know answer..all goes down, right?

There is not need for lawyers/agents etc. In my opinion it is better to do yourself.
My observation with lawyers/agents is that they sometimes oversell chances to sign in new contracts and then come up with fine prints etc and put indirect pressure to fudge things.

Quick question you said they asked you to submit your legal status papers since 1999 which was when you went out of country? I have 2 questions
1) Since when have you been in US, rather first time when did you come to US
2) Did you never leave US after 1999. This is because the status really matters only since your last arrival on visa. Earlier records do not matter as per 245(k) memo. This question will help other forum members who have some kind of status violation

I first entered the US in 1997 using F-1 visa. I traveled back to Indonesia (my home country) 1999 for the holiday. After that, I never travelled out of the US. Since then, I have worked and obtained H1-B and am in the last stage of I-485. PD is ROW (of course) and biometrics code 3 was done a while ago. Hence, I believe USCIS requested RFE since 1999; the last time I travelled out of the country.
I always maintain a legal status.

Does anybody know if Egyptians also have a backlog. Does that also mean that an egyptian with a later priority date can be accepted before an Indian because of the quotas. We need a change in the immigration system. I filed my I-485 in July w no receipt yet. Does that mean I can also expect a long wait.

As Franklin, rightly points out EB3 ROW has been retrogressed for many years and there is a high probability of that being the case for October visa bulletin.
Also, even after applying for I-485, people get stuck in FBI name check for years. Per the latest USCIS Ombudsman report and follow-up information, there are more than 200K people stuck in FBI name check alone.
So please don't take things for granted once you are able to file for I-485. Make us stronger and make your chances of securing a GC sooner by joining IV and asking lawmakers to reform the immigration system for law abiding legal immigrants. Come to the rally in DC, if you can't afford the ticket let me know. I promise to share some anecdotes about my stay in Egypt, Amr Diab music etc with you. My favorite was "Noor El Ain" Probably you would be able to fill me in with some newer hits.

My wife just got her EAD yesteday and it was for 2 years. I am expecting mine today and I hope it will be for 2 years as well and interestingly, my I140 is still pending.
